James Curtis Brown

James Curtis Brown, 57 of Marshall, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 in the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.  He was born in Terre Haute on February 18, 1965 to Johnny B. Brown and Judith A. Newman-Brown.

James was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked in construction.  He was a member of Humboldt Masonic Lodge # 42 F & AM in Terre Haute where he also served as Past Master.  He loved to hunt and fish and loved teaching those skills to his nieces and nephews.

James is survived by his sister Elisabeth Brown (Brian Redden), and nieces and nephews; Amanda Schmoll (Josh), Dennis Brown II, Courney Brown (Josh Bracken), and Caden Redden, as well as a great niece, Kaitlyn Brown, and great nephew, Joshua Bracken, Jr.  He is also survived by his aunts and uncles; Mary Alice Newman, Nancy Newman, and James Newman (Jeanne), and several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dennis Brown and Jason Brown, as well as two uncles, John C. Newman and Edward Newman.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been chosen with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
